Hi Dan, and others,

I noticed that the Call for Papers for the next Creative Commons
Summit later this year is now available here:

https://docs.google.com/a/ffkp.se/forms/d/1Fd-oreSn0HwPsrLdMCaX6dkA7EFINmbgEOuPILmVcaE/viewform

Is anyone interested in doing something related to CC technology
during the summit? I will try to participate (not sure if I'll be able
to cover the costs, since it's quite far from Europe this time), and I
thought it would be a great opportunity to discuss some of our common
issues.

Sincerely,
Jonas

Hi Jonas,

That would be a good idea. What topics would you have in mind?

CC-NL can
talk about embedded metadata in sound for our sounds of the netherlands project (geluidvannederland.nl)
talk about Europeana Licensing Framework, something that the DPLA is also interested in.
talk about the effect for licensing for Cultural Heritage and the effect of Wikimedia collaboration for that sector
etc.

We could also have a tips and tricks session about:
Search widget
Wordpress Template
CC-HQ could give a demo of the hosted Wordpress solution they offer
Could give a demo and the uses for the CC-APIs

My main question would be is what other parties want to hear?

Cheers,

Maarten

Hi Maarten,

my thoughts in this is that there are three topics that I've seen more
actively discussed lately; (1) CC-REL, and broadly metadata, (2) Wordpress
templates and other homepage infrastructures, (3) Translations.

I believe it would be very useful for affiliates to listen to a session
where someone from CC HQ explain and show the translation infrastructure,
and another session to discuss the affiliates' web pages including widgets,
templates, APIs, support from HQ and so on.

And then a third session on metadata, including but not limited to CC-REL
but also including my work with the Shuttleworth Foundation and your work
with Europeana.

Hi all,

I definitely think it would be interesting to have a more technical (and product) track at the summit.

Here's a small slice of what I'm thinking about:

It's not great without commentary, but might give you a taste of the product direction.
